About John Jacob

Personal Profile

Dr Jacob trained in clinical neurology in London, at the National hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and in the Southwest. He was appointed as Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital in 2005. He moved closer to home in 2014 when he was appointed Consultant Neurologist at Milton Keynes NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Jacob is also an Honorary Consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has a strong track record in neuroscience research.

At an early stage in his career Dr Jacob was awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Clinical Training Fellowship, leading to the award of a PhD. As a consultant based in London Dr Jacob undertook important research in neurobiology, publishing multiple important articles in world leading journals, first as a Medical Research Council Clinician-Scientist Fellow and then as a Simon's Foundation investigator. He has also presented his research at numerous national and international conferences.
