Dr John Francis is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Woodlands Hospital in Darlington. He sees NHS and self-pay patients.

He has also been working at the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust since 2009.

Chronic pain is a real interest for him and he started the pain management programme at North Tees and Hartlepool. This started out as 4 programmes a year and is now at 18 a year.

Dr Francis is the Pain Training Lead at the Trust for all anaesthetists and pain fellowship trainees. He is also involved with anaesthesia teaching and training part of the Northern Deanery. Mr Francis is Undergraduate Teaching Lead in the department for Newcastle University.
