About Dr John Ashworth

Personal Profile

Dr Ashworth has many publications and spent many years in various University Teaching Hospitals – Leeds, Glasgow, London, Liverpool, Manchester. His MD thesis was on work undertaken at Charing Cross Hospital, London immediately before he moved to the National Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas’ Hospital London – then Consultant posts in Liverpool and Manchester.

Dr Ashworth is a Member but was later elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London, he is a consultant member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society of Dermatological Surgeons. He won in open competition a prestigious research fellowship awarded by the Medical Research Council. He has gained several awards and prizes throughout his career and has over seventy publications.

Dr Ashworth has wide experience in all aspects of dermatology; skin cancer, acne, moles, psoriasis, warts, eczema, skin aging and skin allergies.
