About Jo Scholey

Personal Profile

Jo trained as a chartered physiotherapist at The Middlesex Hospital in central London. Qualifying in 1988, she worked in the NHS, private clinics and occupational health settings prior to working at The Chiltern Hospital where she has been since 2007.

Her experience covers a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions with a particular interest in treating patients after they have had orthopaedic surgery eg total knee or hip replacement, back operations, shoulder operations.

She enjoys working with patients on functional rehabilitation programmes with the aim of helping them get back to work and leisure activities. Jo is always keen to tailor her treatments towards the individual needs of her patients – discussing what they want to achieve before advising on exercise programmes suitable for their level of fitness and strength, as well as for the stage of their recovery. Her focus is on empowering patients to reach their goals safely and sensibly, and always with a smile.

After having her own children Jo became interested in pelvic health and specialised in that area of physiotherapy. She now has over 20 years of experience working with both women and men with continence problems - bladder and bowel, eg stress incontinence, increased frequency, urgency and urge incontinence. She also sees women with symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse and pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain.
