Mr Kwartz qualified from Birmingham University in 1985 and continued his ophthalmic training at St James Eye Hospital, Leeds and the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
In 1994, he received a Fellowship in Cataract Corneal and External Eye Disease from the University of Toronto, Canada. He started his Consultant Ophthalmologist post in 1996 at the Royal Bolton Hospital Eye Unit, where he is now Clinical Lead.
