About Mr James Mansell
Personal Profile
Mr James Mansell is a Consultant Breast Surgeon and works as an NHS consultant at Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow. Working alongside his Consultant Breast Radiology colleagues any necessary breast imaging (mammography/ultrasound) and biopsy (tissue sampling) can be performed during your visit to his clinic.
He graduated from Manchester University Medical School in 2001 before training in London and Glasgow. He completed higher surgical training in the West of Scotland and an Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Fellowship at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow before being appointed as a Consultant Breast Surgeon in 2015.
Having a keen interest in improving the quality of breast cancer care he is current clinical lead of the West of Scotland breast cancer network and is involved in regional and national guideline development. He is a published author of a number of scientific articles related to breast cancer, has organised national breast cancer meetings and is actively involved in the training of future breast cancer surgeons.
