Dr Ivy Ngu is a Consultant Dermatologist with extensive experience in both general and specialist dermatology. She provides expert diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin conditions affecting adolescents and adults, including acne, eczema, inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer assessment.

Dr Ngu graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. She subsequently completed her postgraduate medical, surgical and dermatology training across major teaching hospitals in Edinburgh, London and Glasgow, including specialist experience at King’s College London and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, an internationally recognised centre for melanoma and skin cancer care. She completed four years of specialist dermatology training in the West of Scotland before being appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in 2017.

Since her appointment as a consultant, Dr Ngu has undertaken a number of clinical leadership roles. She is currently Lead Consultant for the Complex Acne Service and the West of Scotland Skin Lymphoma Service. She also has extensive experience in tertiary vulval dermatology, contributing to a multidisciplinary vulval clinic providing specialist care for patients with complex vulval skin conditions.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Ngu is actively involved in dermatology research and has served as a co-investigator in multiple national and international clinical trials. Her research interests are focused on skin lymphoma, acne and vulval dermatology. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and published widely in peer-reviewed dermatology journals.
Dr Ngu is passionate about medical education and contributes to the teaching and training of undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.

Dr Ngu is committed to providing thoughtful, individualised care with clear diagnoses, evidence-based treatments and personalised management plans tailored to each patient’s needs. She believes in taking time to understand each patient’s concerns and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes.
