Personal Profile
Besides lower limb arthroplasty he was interested in shoulder surgery. Following lower limb training he came to Nottingham to do Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship on the Nottingham Shoulder and Elbow Unit in 2000. Following another 6 months work in QMC he returned to Hungary and worked at the University Hospital of Semmelweiss Medical School at Budapest where he was the head of the Shoulder and Elbow Unit for nearly 3 years.
In early 2005 he returned to the UK and as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon carried out a great number of hip and knee replacements and also knee arthroscopies in Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre.
He set the Shoulder and Elbow Unit there and has been provided shoulder and elbow service since 2009. His preference to carry out lower limb operations in spinal anaesthesia and upper limb operations in regional nerve block when possible, providing less discomfort and extended postoperative pain relief.
Most of the shoulder and elbow operations are performed as arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures, however when necessary he performs traditional open surgery.
