About Ioannis Palaiologos

Personal Profile

Mr Ioannis Palaiologos is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee surgery.

He undertook his medical training in Greece and graduated from the Aristotle University School of Medicine in 1998. He completed basic and higher orthopaedic surgical training in Athens and London.

Ioannis holds an NHS Consultant post at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust, London, since March 2015. He is a trainer recognised by the GMC and takes an active role in the surgical education of orthopaedic specialty trainees.

His clinical practice comprises total hip and knee replacement and he has wide experience with robotic assisted surgery using the Mako system. Furthermore Ioannis has a specialist interest in arthroscopic knee surgery including anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and meniscal repair.

He is trained in all aspects of general orthopaedic trauma management, with further expertise in the fixation of complex fractures.
