With over 20 years of experience, Dr Nixon is known for combining advanced cancer expertise with compassionate, patient-centred care. She works closely with each patient to create a personalised treatment plan, ensuring that care is tailored to individual needs and circumstances. She is the Lead for Regional Renal Radiotherapy, and the Lead for Cancer Innovation in the West of Scotland, driving improvements in patient care.
Alongside her clinical role, she has held senior leadership positions including National Lead for the Scottish Sarcoma Network, NCRI Epidemiology and Survivorship Clinical Research Group for Head and Neck Cancers, and Clinical Director of Oncology Services for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. She is also Professor at Strathclyde University and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, actively contributing to cancer research, innovation, and education.
Dr Nixon has been recognised nationally for her commitment to improving patient care, receiving awards for her work in medicine and cancer innovation. She continues to focus on delivering high-quality treatment while supporting patients and families through every stage of their cancer journey.
