About Dr Indran Davagnanam

Personal Profile

Dr Indran Davagnanam is a Consultant Neuroradiologist based at two of the country's premier specialist centres: the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square) and Moorfields Eye Hospital. His subspecialty interests include imaging of Headache, Trauma, Stroke, Visual Problems, Spinal Cord pathology and the Peripheral Nervous System.

Dr Davagnanam is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the UCL Institute of Neurology receiving funding and grants from the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and Parkinson's Disease UK. He leads on research projects several ongoing national and international research collaborators and has been invited to lecture internationally in his areas of specialist interest.

He has published over 70 articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals including original articles in high impact clinical neurosciences journals and reference medical textbooks. He is a committee member, lecturer and examiner on the Advanced Neuroimaging MSc Programme at the UCL Institute of Neurology.

Clinical Interests

Dr Davagnanam is an expert in the interpretation of diagnostic imaging of a wide variety of Neurological, Neurosurgical and Orbital conditions on Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

He is proficient in minimally invasive diagnostic procedures such as Digital Subtracted Cerebral Angiography (DSA) for intracranial aneurysms, nerve root, facet and sacroiliac joint injections for neck and back pain, cisterno-myelography and CT guided blood-patches for low-pressure headaches and Dacryocystography (DCG) for watery eyes.
