About Dr Iman Kotb

Personal Profile

Dr Kotb qualified with a medical degree in Egypt 2001, and after foundation year rotation jobs in medical and surgical wards, she undertook a 3 year residency programme in Dermatology and Venereology. She had a clinical MSc degree in Skin and Venereal diseases from Egypt. 

Dr Kotb had a PhD degree in Dermatology from the University of Aberdeen and pursued further clinical training in the UK, including general and acute medicine. 

She has her speciality training in Dermatology across various hospitals in Scotland (Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow) which gave her significant clinical exposure and excellent experience.

Dr Kotb manages general dermatology clinics for adults and children, as well as skin cancer clinics, and performs surgical procedures for benign and skin cancer lesions. Dr Kotb is the lead for Vulval clinic service in NHS Tayside which involves collaborative team work with Gynaecology, Sexual Health Medicine and Physiotherapy. In her NHS role, she is involved in teaching, supervision of junior doctors, research and management. 

Dr Kotb has published scientific papers in international journals and presented her research output in various national and international dermatology conferences. 

Dr Kotb is an associate editor for the Skin Health and Disease Journal from the British Association of Dermatologists, and is up to date with advances in clinical research and management of skin diseases.

At Albyn Hospital, Dr Kotb offers consultations only for children aged 5 and above, with eczema and acne concerns.
