Mr Ibrahim Rajput is a Consultant General Surgeon at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds, with a specialist interest in hepatobiliary surgery. He also sees private patients at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate and offers face-to-face, video and telephone consultations.

Mr Rajput qualified as a doctor from the University of Leeds and completed his surgical training in Yorkshire, including significant time at St James’s University Hospital, where he focused on hepatobiliary and transplant surgery. He also gained valuable experience during a period of training in Sydney, Australia.

He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder and bile duct conditions, particularly benign biliary disease. Mr Rajput has performed the highest number of gallbladder removal procedures (cholecystectomies) in the UK in recent years. He also has expertise in the treatment of groin and sports hernias.

In addition to his work in general surgery, Mr Rajput has specialist experience in liver and pancreatic surgery. He previously worked as a Consultant Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, performing complex operations for liver and pancreatic cancer.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Rajput has a strong interest in research. During his surgical training, he completed a Medical Doctorate (MD) and continues to contribute to medical research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He also regularly presents his work at national and international meetings and conferences.
