Mr Ian Smith is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate.
He offers a comprehensive range of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgical procedures, with a specialist interest in skin cancer and complex sarcoma surgery. He also offers treatment for lumps and bumps (including lipomas), reconstruction following cancer, and head and neck surgery.
He is certified in surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures under the Cosmetic Surgery Certification Scheme, by the Royal College of Surgeons in England.
Having undergone training in plastic surgery in Leeds and the Yorkshire region, Mr Smith further honed his skills through 2 Fellowships in Australia. Notably, he spent a year at the renowned Australian Craniofacial Unit in Adelaide and a further year at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in Queensland, where he gained advanced expertise in head and neck surgery and the management of complex skin cancers.
In his current role within the NHS, Mr Smith serves as the Lead Clinician for Sarcoma at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, as well as the Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery. He is appointed as Chair of the Board of Plastic Surgery Examiners for the FRCS (Plast), and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
