Dr Ian Logan BM MRCGP MRCP (DERM) FRCP is a Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon with specialist expertise in skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery and advanced dermatological surgery.

Dr Logan is a substantive Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon at Ealing Hospital, part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, where he has worked as a consultant since 2019. He is the Mohs and Skin Surgery lead at the trust.

He qualified in medicine from the University of Southampton in 2006 and trained in general practice and general medicine, obtaining both MRCGP and MRCP qualifications before specialising in dermatology. He completed his higher specialist dermatology training at leading London teaching hospitals, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and University College London Hospitals, and obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Dermatology in 2018.

Following completion of specialist training, Dr Logan undertook a dedicated one-year post-CCT fellowship in Mohs and Advanced Dermatological Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He has also undertaken international observerships in Mohs and laser surgery in the United States, including in Texas and California.

Dr Logan has particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of skin cancer, pre-malignant, and benign skin lesions. He performs Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly specialised technique that allows skin cancers to be removed with precise examination of the surgical margins while preserving as much healthy surrounding tissue as possible. This is particularly important for certain skin cancers occurring on the face and other functionally or cosmetically sensitive areas. 

Alongside skin cancer and dermatological surgery, Dr Logan assesses and treats a broad range of general dermatological conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and other inflammatory skin disorders. His specialist training has also included complex medical dermatology, transplant-associated skin cancer, and laser surgery. He has completed post-CCT training in laser treatment of pigmentation and vascular lesions. 

Dr Logan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, British Society for Dermatological Surgery, British Society for Dermatopathology.
He has an active academic interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including research on pleomorphic dermal sarcoma, melanoma and other uncommon skin tumours. He has presented his work at national and international dermatology meetings and has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He was previously the Clinical Governance and Dermatology Clinical Lead for the 18 Week Support NHS insourcing service. 

Dr Logan takes a patient-centred approach, providing clear explanations of diagnoses and treatment options and tailoring treatment to each patient's individual clinical needs.
