Dr Ian Herbert is an experienced General Practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience as a GP partner, providing comprehensive and patient-centred medical care. Born and raised in West Wales, Dr Herbert is a Welsh-speaking doctor with strong links to the local community and a broad understanding of the healthcare needs of patients across the region.
Dr Herbert trained in London at Guy’s Hospital before developing his career across Wales and England. His professional experience includes working in London, Cardiff at University Hospital of Wales (UHW), and at West Wales General Hospital (WWGH). This varied experience has given him a broad clinical background and a wealth of knowledge in general practice.
Alongside his work as a GP, Dr Herbert provides a range of general medical services and minor surgical procedures. He also offers private Botox treatments, providing patients with a professional and medically led approach to aesthetic care.
Dr Herbert has a strong commitment to medical education and supporting the next generation of doctors. He has worked as an Educational Supervisor for trainee doctors and medical students and is an Honorary Clinical Tutor at Swansea University Medical School. He has also contributed to medical education as an examiner for medical students at University Hospital of Wales.
His combination of extensive experience in general practice, hospital medicine and medical education allows Dr Herbert to provide a knowledgeable, approachable and well-rounded service to patients. His long-standing career in Wales, together with his experience in London and Cardiff, has given him a broad perspective on patient care and an appreciation of the importance of listening to patients and providing clear, personalised advice.

His contribution to primary care and health-related education has included involvement with professional organisations, reflecting his wider commitment to improving healthcare and supporting those entering the medical profession.
