Mr Ebied originally graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School in in Cairo, Egypt in 1999 with honours. He then completed his advanced surgery training in the UK as a senior clinical fellow at Liverpool, Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and Barts Health with special interest in UGI (Upper Gastrointestinal) and advanced laparoscopic surgery. Mr Ebied also spent 3 years at Guy's & St Thomas Hospital in London; the South East regional unit for upper gastro-oesophageal surgery, where he specialised in all aspects of upper gastrointestinal disease. Mr Ebied was involved in all aspects of the management of complex malignant and benign problems.
Mr Husam Ebied was granted his MSc and MD, after which he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and was appointed as a consultant surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' in September 2017.
