About Mr Henry Copson

Personal Profile

Henry is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy from the University of Brighton in 2018 and has spent the majority of his career working in the Musculoskeletal setting and trauma/orthopaedics. He’s worked across the south of England in East Sussex, Somerset and Dorset and now works as a Senior MSK Physiotherapist in both the NHS at Yeovil District Hospital and in private practice at the Winterbourne Hospital.

Henry has built himself vast experience assessing, treating and managing acute pains and injuries, as well as longstanding chronic pain in the upper limb, lower limb and spine. Henry enjoys treating a variety of MSK conditions, including muscular/joint pain, nerve pain, traumatic injuries as well as post-operative care (elective and trauma).

His assessment process involves gaining a thorough subjective history of your condition and an objective examination in order to gain an accurate clinical diagnosis. He is passionate about patient-centred care and will use joint-decision making in order to tailor his treatment to best suit the individuals needs and goals.

Treatment options may include:

  • Rehabilitation (both early rehab and late stage/return to sport) 
  • Home exercise programs
  • Joint sessions in the gym
  • Manual therapies where indicated
  • Shockwave therapy

More recently he has developed a special interest management of upper limb conditions (shoulder and elbow) and has had the opportunity to attend courses and trainings with upper limb specialists and consultants to further develop in this area.
