Dr Gupta trained as a Gastroenterologist at the Mersey Deanery in Liverpool, including the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Aintree University Hospital and  practicing since 2008 as a Consultant Gastroenterologist.

Dr Gupta deals with all aspects of gastroenterology diseases including Upper GI disorders; lower GI disorders; dyspepsia; heartburn; reflux; dysphagia; abdominal pain; malabsorption; anaemia; diarrhoea; constipation; IBS; ulcerative colitis; Crohn's disease; liver disease and nutrition related problems. He strongly believes in the patient being at the centre of the treatment decision making process.  

He provides both upper and lower GI endoscopy services.

He is the Nutrition Lead and Endoscopy Training Lead for United Lincolnshire NHS Trust at the Lincoln County Hospital.
