Dr Berry began his medical training at Wadham College, Oxford, followed by clinical studies at Guy’s Hospital Medical School in London. He gained early clinical experience as a House Physician at Guy’s and later as a Senior House Officer and Senior Registrar in Cardiology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. His growing interest in inflammatory joint conditions led him to specialise in Rheumatology at the Royal London Hospital. He later obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Oxford, conducting pivotal research on anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic therapies.
As an NHS Consultant at King’s College Hospital for over two decades, Dr Berry taught Rheumatology to generations of medical students and was appointed as a recognised educator by the University of London. His private practice now spans multiple leading facilities across London, including 66 Harley Street, the London Spine Clinic at 116 Harley Street, and the Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow. He also has admitting rights at The London Clinic, The Princess Grace Hospital, and The Wellington Hospital.
Dr Berry has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in esteemed medical journals and has delivered lectures internationally on the latest advancements in the treatment of rheumatic disease. His research into arthritis, particularly rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, helped shape best practices globally. He continues to be at the forefront of patient-centred rheumatology, with a clinical approach rooted in holistic, evidence-based care.
His broad expertise covers a wide range of conditions, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Ankylosing Spondylitis, gout, and soft tissue disorders such as fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, and plantar fasciitis. He also treats back and neck pain, disc prolapse, sciatica, and osteoporosis, offering joint and soft tissue injections where appropriate.
Dr Berry’s unique perspective as both a rheumatologist and general physician allows him to recognise and manage the systemic nature of many rheumatic conditions, including those that overlap with pulmonary, cardiac, renal, and dermatological diseases. His reputation for making swift, accurate diagnoses and offering clear, compassionate explanations makes him highly trusted by both patients and peers.
With a lifelong dedication to medicine and education, Dr Berry continues to lead in the diagnosis and management of complex rheumatological conditions, delivering high-quality, personalised care to patients across London.
