About Dr Guy Hagan

Personal Profile

Dr Hagan is a consultant in general and respiratory medicine. He qualified from Birmingham Medical School in 2002 and trained in respiratory and general medicine in major hospitals in the West Midlands. He spent an additional two years working in Papworth Hospital, Cambridge during a period of research into pulmonary vascular diseases and was awarded a Masters Degree by the University of Cambridge.

He has expertise in all aspects of general respiratory medicine including cough, interstitial lung disease, lung infections and pulmonary embolism. He has worked as an NHS consultant at City Hospital, Birmingham and Sandwell Hospital, West Bromwich since 2014, and undertakes clinics in tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease, bronchiectasis, COPD, interstitial lung disease and general respiratory medicine in his NHS practice, as well as a regular bronchoscopy list. In addition he participates in general medical on call and out of hours respiratory cover. He is the lead clinician for tuberculosis and was the overall clinical service lead for the respiratory department during a 10 year tenure (Feb 2016 to April 2026).
