Dr Gurjit Chohan is a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist with extensive expertise in clinical practice, education, research and leadership. She qualified in Medicine in 2001 and undertook Neurology Training in Oxford before obtaining an MD in Creutzfeldt Jacob Disease research in Edinburgh. After completing specialist training in Peninsula and undertaking a Neuroinflammatory Fellowship at the Royal Prince Alfred and Brain and Mind Research in Sydney, Australia, she become a consultant Neurologist at the Royal United Hospital Bath in 2013.
She enjoys the challenges of all areas of neurology but maintains her specialist interest in Motor Neurone Disease and Botox Services for neurological conditions.
Dr Chohan is dedicating to fostering medical education, supervising trainees, and holding roles regionally and nationally as Supported Return to Work Champion, College Tutor for IMTs and Council Member for the ABN Educational Committee as well as supporting medical students and Physician Associate trainees. She has published in numerous peer reviewed journals and is committed to Quality improvement implementation.
She plays an active role in the Ethics Committee and Neurogovernance, having been the lead for the neurology department. She regularly attends regional and national neurology meetings and liaises with other professionals in the neurosciences to produce the best quality care for her patients.
