Dr Radja prioritises accurately diagnosing his patients through thorough assessment and investigation, as this determines the appropriate treatment options. An initial consultation with him, which typically lasts around an hour, includes a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s mental state and memory functions (if necessary), along with blood tests and neuroimaging techniques like CT, MRI, or PET scans. To ensure his patients’ convenience, all tests are carried out at the same hospital, aiming to minimise waiting times for these tests, although this can vary depending on the specific medical conditions being addressed.
He is experienced in diagnosing and managing the psychiatric effects of neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease. He holds expert knowledge in addressing mental health issues in the elderly, utilising a combination of psychotropic medications and psychological therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy, to provide comprehensive care. He adopts a holistic treatment strategy that encompasses both pharmacological and psychological therapies as deemed suitable. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a form of psychotherapy designed to alleviate emotional distress and symptoms stemming from traumatic life events. Collaborating with a team of skilled psychotherapists, he offers comprehensive treatment for a broad spectrum of psychological issues. His research endeavours, particularly focused on the treatment of limbic encephalitis, have led to his work being published in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry (JNNP), and The Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences (JNCN).
