Background

Dr Graham Colver is a graduate of Oxford University and later St Thomas’ hospital in London. He started his career in general medicine and paediatrics before embarking on dermatology training. He spent 7 years first in Oxford and then Edinburgh before becoming a consultant. He has worked at Chesterfield Royal Hospital since 1990.

Special Interests

Dr Colver has maintained an interest in all areas of dermatology but at an early stage became interested in surgical aspects of the specialty and skin cancer. After a period working with experts in Germany and then Arizona he set up the surgical skin cancer service in Chesterfield. He spent 2 years as the President of the British Society for Dermatological Surgery

Teaching and Training

Dr. Colver plays a full role teaching students, primary care doctors and trainees in dermatology.

Research and Publications

His research has led to the publication of 30 academic articles and his interest in skin cancer and skin surgery to the authorship of 3 books. He was President of the British Society for Dermatological Surgery and represented the UK on the International Society for Dermatological Surgery. His main interest is appropriate management of skin disease including cancer.
