About Mr Gibson Akpobome

Personal Profile

Mr Gibson Akpobome's special interests include subfertility treatment, pelvic floor surgery and treatment of urinary incontinence (Urogynaecology). He is an accredited laparoscopic and minimal access surgeon. Mr Akpobome is also an accredited colposcopist and provides the service at his Trust.

His specialist training was in the South East of London including Kings’ College Hospital, Princess Royal University Hospital and Benenden Hospital. He had extensive training in Urogynaecology and prolapse surgery at Benenden Hospital. He acquired RCOG accreditation in laparoscopy after training at Farnborough and Benenden. He is also skilled in hysteroscopic assessment and treatment of menorrhagia and other problems.

He underwent training in Infertility Management and Assisted Conception at King’s College Hospital and is fully accredited by the RGCOG and British Fertility Society.

He is actively involved in management activities at his Trust. He is the chair of the Clinical Improvement Team for the Women’s Directorate and Lead for Women’s Services at the Princess Royal University Hospital Site. He is an active member of the Divisional Clinical Governance Committee.
