Personal Profile

Mr Giangiacomo Ollandini is a revered consultant urological surgeon based in London and Milton Keynes. With over a decade of experience, Mr Ollandini is competent in all general urology conditions and an expert in several specific ones. His areas of expertise include andrology, infertility, sexual medicine, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, chronic prostatitis, vasectomy, penile doppler ultrasound, benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), lower urinary tract symptoms, scrotal and penile surgery, testicular cancer, non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and prostate cancer diagnosis.

Mr Ollandini completed his medical training at the University of Trieste and his specialist training in Verona, both in Italy. He then went on to study for his Masters in Andrological Surgery and gender disorder Surgery, obtaining first class honours in this and all his qualifications. He has recently started additional training in psychosexual medicine with the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine based in London.

Mr Ollandini has been working in the United Kingdom since completing his training and has gone on to further his clinical experience and knowledge within some of the most renowned Trusts in the country including King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It was here that Mr Ollandini worked as a Senior Clinical fellow, caring for General Urology and Andrology patients. Mr Ollandini became a trainer for Boston Scientific in Greenlight laser prostate photo selective vaporization; at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, he was also a Locum Consultant and was in charge of General Urology, Andrology and infertility. Whilst at Chelsea and Westminster Mr Ollandini performed the very first MRI fusion Targeted transperineal prostate biopsy for the Trust. He established a solid working relationship with both the fertility team (performing microsurgical sperm retrieval) and with the Sexual Health team.

Mr Ollandini is the main author and co-author of many publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, and he co-authored several chapters for scientific books including two edited by the prestigious Springer.

His first substantive appointment as NHS Consultant Urologist and Andrologist was at Milton Keynes University Hospital, and at the same time he worked as Co-Medical Lead for Andrology in the psychosexual team at King’s College Hospital London. He participated as Andrology Expert in the expert panels of MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) for evaluation about specific safety concerns related to human medicines.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Ollandini is also a highly-respected medical researcher and educator. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and was an educational supervisor at Milton Keynes University Hospital and the andrology tutor in the subspecialty school of Reproductive Medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He is now appointed at Chelsea and Westminster within the newborn Gender Affirming Surgery Team however, he dedicates part of his time to provide also General Urology services with the local team.
