About Mr Gevdeep Bhabra

Personal Profile

Mr Gev Bhabra is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and management of shoulder and elbow disorders. His main NHS practice is at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. This is a busy major trauma centre, where I receive referrals from GPs as well as “tertiary” referrals from other orthopaedic units in the region. He sees private and insured patients at The Meriden Hospital in Coventry.

Mr Bhabra graduated from the University of Bristol before completing his orthopaedic surgery training in London, based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals. He then undertook a one-year international fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery in Perth, Australia. On his return to the UK he completed a second prestigious shoulder and elbow fellowship in Coventry before commencing his consultant post.

Mr Bhabra's practice encompasses the assessment and treatment of all conditions related to the shoulder and elbow, including acute trauma and sports-related injuries as well as chronic disorders. He practices the most advanced arthroscopic (keyhole) surgical techniques as well as complex open reconstructive and joint replacement surgery for post-traumatic and painful arthritic conditions.

Mr Bhabra has presented and published extensively in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. He was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine  (M.D.) by the University of Bristol for his work on orthopaedic biomaterials used in joint replacement surgery. He is currently engaged in multi-centre clinical trials in collaboration with Warwick University as principle investigator and chief investigator. He is also a clinical tutor and lecturer to Warwick University medical students and trainees on the Warwick Orthopaedic specialist training program.
