About George Goumalatsos

Personal Profile

Mr Goumalatsos is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon. He started his training in gynaecology in 2005 in the London Deanery and gained valuable experience at King’s College and St Thomas’ Hospitals.

During the last three years of his training he subspecialised in minimal access (keyhole) surgery at Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. In 2016 he completed his Masters degree in advanced gynaecological endoscopy at the University of Guildford. Mr Goumalatsos is the lead for minimal access surgery in Basingstoke hospital. He was the first Basingstoke consultant to perform a laparoscopic myomectomy and a mini laparoscopic hysterectomy. He introduced and regularly performs, mini laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery at Basingstoke Hospital.

Surgery with these instruments produces scars so small that they do not need any sutures and leave an excellent cosmetic result.
