Dr Francesco Giganti is an academic radiologist based at University College London and University College London Hospital. He holds the position of Associate Professor of Radiology and serves as an Honorary Consultant Radiologist with a clinical focus on genitourinary imaging, particularly prostate cancer diagnostics.

Dr Giganti studied Medicine and completed his clinical radiology training at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy. During his specialist training, he spent a year as a clinical research fellow at University College London Hospital, concentrating on prostate MRI. His long-term research interests lie in the application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for prostate cancer, and he has made significant contributions in this field through both clinical practice and academic research.

He earned his PhD at University College London, exploring MRI for patients under active surveillance for prostate cancer (PRECISE score), tools for improving prostate MRI quality (PI-QUAL score), and MRI post-focal ablation (PI-FAB score). Dr Giganti regularly speaks at national and international conferences and has authored numerous publications in high-impact medical journals.

A passionate educator, he teaches prostate MRI to radiologists and urologists and mentors both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate PhD candidates. His work continues to influence prostate imaging protocols worldwide, shaping the future of prostate cancer care.
