About Dr Evelyn Jannetta

Personal Profile

Dr Evelyn Jannetta is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, the Open University and the University of Sheffield. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and a master’s degree in International Health Management and Leadership. Undergraduate studies include Psychology.

She is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC. She has over 15 years’ experience of working in NHS services. She provides specialist psychological therapy for people living with a range of physical health conditions. Alongside this she offers a private service offering assessment and treatment for general adult psychology.

She has a special interest in helping people to manage their physical health conditions, cope with their health needs, adjust to treatment and health challenges, and work towards goals. This is to support people in improving their quality of life.

Her experiences include clinical consultancy, leading and developing clinical services, research, and supervising clinicians and students.

A lecturer position at the University of Aberdeen involved designing, developing and co-ordinating courses which included the MSc in Foundations of Clinical Psychology and an online module in Global Mental Health.

She has an interest in rehabilitation work. She has extensive experience of working clinically and strategically with a range of other professionals to provide holistic care.  She tailors input on the tools people need to help them to understand and manage their mental and physical health and provides resources on good long-term condition management.

She is also an improvement coach in the workplace. She engages people and multi-disciplinary teams in building their confidence, skills and knowledge of quality improvement models and tools. She encourages teams to improve patient experience of care in NHS settings and develop patient-centred services.

She is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness.

She has extensive  experience of providing clinical supervision and is on the British Psychological Society’s Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors.
