About Esmaeil Nikfekr

Personal Profile

Dr Nikfekr is a neurology consultant and his qualifications are MD, PhD, and FRCP-UK. He held full licence to practise by the General Medical Council (GMC) of the United Kingdom and is on Specialist GMC register.

Dr Nikfekr specialises in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and inflammatory conditions of brain and spinal cord. He used to work at University Hospitals of Leicester (LUH) running their Multiple Sclerosis service before moving to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) where he is currently based at Queen’s Medical Centre.

During his 7-year tenure in UHL, Dr Nikfekr was Principal Investigator (PI) for more than ten national and international Clinical Trials in Multiple Sclerosis.

He also has a PhD in Parkinson's disease (PD) from Nottingham university and treats PD patients as well as Migraine and headaches for chronic Migraine based on NHS England licencing criteria. In addition, Dr Nikfekr deals with a wide range of neurological conditions and cares for patients who suffer from a spectrum of disorders such as Epilepsy and neuropathy.

Currently, he runs both general neurology and MS clinics in NHS at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre and Mansfield’s King’s Mill hospital.
