About Ms Eriola Mushi

Personal Profile

Ms Mushi is a Consultant ENT and Head and Neck Surgeon who completed her medical training within the UK healthcare system. She graduated with honours from Liverpool University School of Medicine in 2006, receiving an outstanding achievement prize. Following foundation training in upper GI surgery and orthopaedics, she completed her core surgical training across Manchester and South Wales before undertaking a research fellowship in Liverpool.

 

Her specialist training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery was completed through the Mersey Deanery (now Health Education North West), where she gained extensive experience at renowned tertiary centres including Aintree University Hospital for head and neck surgery and Alder Hey Children's Hospital. She also completed an observership at Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen, Netherlands, to enhance her surgical expertise.

 

Appointed as ENT Consultant at Mid Cheshire NHS Trust in 2023, Ms Mushi holds the position of Paediatric ENT Lead and plays a key role in the trust's difficult airway training programme. She has been appointed Education Lead for all otolaryngology trainees across North West Deanery covering both Mersey and Manchester regions.

 

Ms Mushi is passionate about medical education, regularly teaching medical students and trainees, and serving as faculty on FRCS courses nationwide. She leads her trust's participation in one of the UK's largest national trials on surgery for thyroid cancer ( HoT trial) and uses extensively laryngopharyngeal diagnostic procedures under local anaesthesia at Mid Cheshire.

Her commitment to patient-centred care is reflected in multiple achievement certificates based on the Friends and Family Test within the trust.
