In her consultant role, she looks after in-patients and outpatients with a range of gastroenterology conditions including reflux disease and oesophageal disorders, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and liver disease. She is JAG Accredited in Endoscopy and Colonoscopy.
Dr Robertson has an MD in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and has published papers in many prominent medical journals and presented her findings at National and International Meetings. She has been an invited speaker at national meetings. Dr Robertson has an active research interest and has been the principal investigator for Lanarkshire in multicentre trials in Gastroenterology.
Dr Robertson has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She has established and chairs a regional MDT for complex cases of IBD and she takes the lead on the management of IBD patients locally. She also has an interest in oesophageal disorders including reflux disease and eosinophilic oesophagitis having done an MD in this area and published a multitude of papers.
Dr Robertson is also interested in patient and peer education and has an active role in education. She has previously developed a web based education programme for gastroenterology which is now held on a national platform, she runs a regional training programme for care providers looking after patients with inflammatory bowel disease, and she is currently developing an educational podcast series for NHS Lanarkshire.
She is on the Gastroenterology Guideline Development Group for NHS Lanarkshire and has had a role in National Guideline Development.
