With extensive expertise in all areas of stroke medicine, Dr. Sen provides evidence-based, patient-centred care, drawing on years of advanced training and clinical practice. Dr. Sen's key areas of interest include managing stroke, transient ischemic attacks (TIA), cerebral small vessel disease, Lacunar infarcts, anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation, cryptogenic strokes, strokes of uncertain origin. He also provides high quality Geriatric Medicine care for conditions such as falls, dementia, and parkinsonism.
After earning his medical degree from Calcutta University in 2002, he obtained his MRCP (UK) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006, followed by an MRCP in Geriatric Medicine in 2009. He completed his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General (Internal) Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Stroke Medicine in 2014. Since 2014, Dr. Sen has held a consultant role in Stroke Medicine at the Comprehensive Stroke Centre in Manchester. Between 2016 and 2017, he expanded his expertise internationally as Consultant Stroke Physician and Geriatrician, serving as Director of Stroke Services at the Institute of Neurosciences in Kolkata.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Sen is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Manchester University, contributing to academic research and medical education. Dr. Sen’s dedication to Stroke and Geriatric medicine care and his leadership in complex vascular neurology make him a trusted authority in stroke medicine, committed to advancing patient outcomes through comprehensive and compassionate care.
