Dr Mital is a clinical lecturer at the University of Buckingham Medical School and the Clinical Director for Specialty Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His other roles include lead for Research in Infectious Diseases & Microbiology in Thames Valley & South Midlands on behalf of the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR) and the HIV Medicine Clinical Reference Group (CRG) member for Midlands & East.
He has been involved in all areas of research, education, training and delivery of medical care in blood borne viruses and substance use which has led to presentations and publications in peer review journals. He is also an accredited sexual assault forensic examiner, does medicolegal case reports and is lead for Immunisations and Vaccinations for the region.
It is a combination of his roles to date, particularly in education, training and development of patients, that enables Dr Mital to offer an exceptional level of specialist care and treatment. He also holds a viral hepatitis clinic, catering specifically for injecting drug users living with blood borne viruses, which led to a Winston Churchill Fellowship award in 2017.
