About Dr Dev Pyne

Personal Profile

Dr Pyne received his medical education at prestigious institutions, graduating with Distinction from Cambridge University and Barts and the Royal London Medical School. He completed his specialist training in both Rheumatology and General Medicine, achieving his Consultant qualifications.

In 2003, he was awarded the prestigious British Society of Rheumatology Travelling Fellowship. This provided him with the opportunity to further his expertise in Australia, where he gained valuable experience in Rheumatology, Neurology, and Renal Medicine.

Dr Pyne is also a skilled acupuncturist, having trained at The Royal Homeopathic Hospital in 2001. He is certified by the British Medical Acupuncture Society.

A Distinguished Career

Dr Pyne is a respected researcher and educator. He has published numerous articles on rheumatic diseases, acupuncture, and joint injections in leading medical journals, including Rheumatology and the British Journal of Sports Medicine. He has also contributed to the renowned "Medical Management and Therapeutics" textbook by Kumar and Clark.

Dr Pyne is an active educator, regularly conducting joint examination/injection courses for GPs and allied health professionals. He is also an examiner for the University of London MBBS medical degree and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, specialising in Rheumatology and Sports Medicine.

Dr Pyne currently leads one of the largest NHS rheumatology services in the country, overseeing departments at Barts, Royal London, Newham, Mile End, and Whipps Cross Hospitals.
