Dr Creer studied at the University of Cape Town Medical School, graduating in 1991. He undertook his specialist medical training in London including the Royal Free Hospital, the London Chest and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has been a specialist respiratory and general medicine physician since 2004.
He has a broad range of respiratory expertise including the assessment of common respiratory symptoms like cough (including longstanding cough, coughing excessive sputum and coughing up blood), breathlessness, wheezing, positive TB skin or TB blood tests and the investigation of possible lung cancers including the assessment of pulmonary nodules and people wanting Lung Cancer Screening.
He has accumulated specialist expertise at clinical assessment and at interpreting chest x-rays, Chest CT scans and breathing tests which allows him to provide a comprehensive assessment of patients with chest complaints. He also performs Bronchoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS-TBNA) having performed over 2000 bronchoscopies.
Dr Creer has an interest in Chest Infections specifically Bronchiectasis, Non-Tuberculous Mycobacterial Infection and Tuberculosis as well as expertise managing common respiratory conditions like Asthma, COPD, Unexplained breathlessness, Chronic cough, Lung cancer, Pneumothorax and Pulmonary embolism.
