About Dr David Howarth

Personal Profile

Dr. Howarth has been employed at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary as a full-time consultant haematologist for the last 19 years. He has been practising haematology for 25 years and medicine for over 30 years.

He originally qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School and conducted post graduate training in the Manchester region.

He has been clinical lead for 10 years and has experience in both oncological and non-oncological haematology.

Prior to entering haematology, Dr. Howarth practised as a registrar in general medicine for several years and gained experience in rheumatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, respiratory, endocrinology / diabetes, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, intensive care, geriatrics and renal medicine.
