David Bratt is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust with a specialist interest in Renal cancer, Testes cancer and General Urology.

He has been specialising in Urology now for 7 years and was appointed to Nottingham in 2024 following a successful advanced fellowship in open and minimally invasive kidney surgery. He regularly performs major open, laparoscopic and robotic renal procedures as an expert in renal oncology alongside the management of benign prostate disease and prostate cancer diagnosis. Furthermore, he is able to offer all general Urological procedures including benign prostate surgery, Scrotal and Testes surgery, and endoscopic bladder surgery.

David was successful in being appointed to a prestigious academic foundation training programme after completing medical school at the University of Sheffield and during this time he completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education. He went on to specialise In Urology and during his training published well in his field. Following completion of his higher surgical training in the East Midlands he then undertook the regions first advanced Complex Upper Tract Urological Malignancy fellowship becoming independent in Renal and Retroperitoneal Surgery.

He has since successfully been appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in Nottingham specialising in Upper tract malignancy specifically Laparoscopic, Robotic and Open surgery. His surgical logbook tallies over 2500 procedures, Including over 200 nephrectomy's and nephroureterectomy's for cancer and benign disease of the urological tract. He has also performed over 350 bladder and prostate endoscopic procedures and numerous diagnostic tests for prostate, bladder and kidney cancer.

Outside of work David holds a private pilots licence (PPL(H)) and enjoys flying out of Nottingham City Airport regularly. He also enjoys Golf, American Football and live music.
