Dr Jones qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1997, where he was awarded a first-class BSc undergraduate degree and numerous prizes.
He completed his postgraduate training in South London and, during this period, he received a prestigious Medical Research Council fellowship to undertake research in transplantation immunology. His studies lead to him being awarded a PhD in 2007.
Since 2007, he has worked as a Consultant Nephrologist at St George’s University Hospital NHS Trust where he has held several senior leadership positions, participated in the undergraduate and postgraduate training of doctors and is an active mentor to other doctors and healthcare professionals.
He is currently the joint clinical lead for integration of the St George’s and St Helier renal services which will transform kidney care for those in Southwest London and Surrey.
His main passion is clinical work and has developed a wealth of experience over the past 27 years. He has been a consultant for 17 years.
During his career, he has focused on improving services and care for patients with kidney diseases and has treated thousands of people.
Where needed, he can also offer procedures including day case kidney biopsy and local anaesthetic medical insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the UK Kidney Association.
