About Mr Colin Pease

Personal Profile

Dr Pease trained at the London Hospital Medical School and completed his Rheumatology and General Medicine training on the Westminster and Charing Cross Senior Registrar rotation.

He was appointed Consultant to Leeds Teaching Hospitals in 1989 and worked in the rheumatology department at Chapel Allerton Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital in Otley.

For the first ten years, Dr Pease was a Consultant in General Medicine at Wharfedale Hospital. He retired from the NHS in January 2021, but continues private practice at the Duchy Hospital.

He has also been on the Executive Council of the British Society for Rheumatology as both Secretary and Treasurer.

  • Rheumatic complaints (pain and discomfort in the joints, muscles and bones)
  • Polymyalgia rheumatica (pain, stiffness and inflammation in the muscles around the shoulders, neck and hips)
  • Temporal arteritis (inflammation in the arteries, particularly in the temples)
  • Sjogren’s syndrome (affects parts of the body that produce fluids)
  • Gout
  • Joint injections
