Dr McAloon is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist who provides specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of heart conditions. His main private practice is based at Droitwich Spa Hospital, where he cares for patients with both common and complex cardiovascular conditions.
He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based cardiology care with a strong focus on accurate diagnosis, modern treatment approaches, and personalised patient management.
Dr McAloon trained in medicine at the University of Birmingham, graduating in 2007. He completed his foundation and core medical training in the West Midlands, where he developed a strong clinical foundation in general medicine and acute care.
During this time, he was awarded the FY1 West Midlands Research Prize in recognition of his academic achievement and early contribution to medical research.
In 2011, Dr McAloon entered specialist cardiology training within the West Midlands. He rotated through major regional cardiac centres, gaining broad experience in all aspects of cardiovascular medicine.
Alongside his clinical training, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at Cardiff University, reflecting his commitment to teaching and supporting the next generation of clinicians.
In 2013, Dr McAloon began a PhD at the University of Warwick, focusing on cardiac resynchronisation therapy and heart failure.
He completed his PhD in 2017 and was actively involved in research throughout this period. His work included national and international presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and recognition for academic excellence.
In 2015, he received the inaugural Royal College of Physicians and National Institute for Health Research Trainee Excellence Award for his research contribution.
Dr McAloon has advanced training in cardiac imaging, developed through specialist experience at University Hospital of North Midlands and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
