He has a 10-year history of working in the NHS from post-graduation in 1997 to 2009. He then transitioned to private practice from 2009 to the present day, with the last 11 years spent at The Circle Health Group Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals.
Chris's approach to patient assessment and treatment is holistic, with biomechanics and kinematics forming the basis of his methodology. He is primarily an integrated manual therapist, applying various evidence-based modified osteopathic and physiotherapeutic techniques. These include Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Counterstrain, joint manipulations, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Maitland techniques, neurodynamics, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy, which he also treats with acupuncture needles, known as dry needling. Additionally, he treats both upper and lower limb tendinopathies with Radial Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy, a clinically proven method to re-instigate healing for both sub-acute and chronic tendonitis.
The consolidation of his British amateur weightlifters instructor training and long-standing martial arts background, along with his clinical Pilates training (Mat Level 1 & 2), has shaped his approach to rehabilitation and his understanding of movement efficiency and performance. He is currently the Health & Safety representative for the physiotherapy out-patient department, attending committee meetings in this capacity.
