About Dr Christine Gibson

Personal Profile

Christine graduated from Birmingham University in 1994 and trained as a GP locally in the Bath area. She is an experienced and a practising GP, working in Chippenham, with a special interest in women's health. Her enthusiasm for Menopause Care comes from her real-life experience as a GP and from seeing the improvement in well being that optimal menopause management has on Women's lives.  Christine is a member of the British Menopause society and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.  

Christine has a broad knowledge base and can advise you on evidence-based interventions. She is the clinical lead for Women's Health Care and Menopause Care for her practice and is trained to fit coils, implants and ring pessaries. She can also help with contraception, urogenital and menstrual problems.   

 In February 2025 Christine was awarded the Management of the Menopause Certification which covers six main topics including:

  • Assessment of women presenting with menopausal symptoms
  • HRT practical prescribing
  • Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI)
  • Menopause and HRT - health effects, benefits and risks
  • Breast cancer family history
  • Abnormal bleeding in perimenopause and postmenopause and unscheduled bleeding on HRT

Christine enjoys talking to and listening to her patients and is passionate about taking an individual approach to perimenopausal and menopausal care. She endeavours to take an overarching, holistic view of problems. She offers evidence-based information alongside lifestyle advice to help support you to have choice and maximise your well being. Christine hopes that her down to earth, friendly approach will get you feeling your best through this life transition.

Christine has 3 teenage children and lives in the Bath area. Outside of work she enjoys walking and meeting up with friends.
