He was awarded the Fellowship in Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons England in 1998. He graduated in medicine from Manchester Medical School and completed his basic surgical training in Manchester and Bolton. After achieving the Fellowship for Surgeons in General of The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2005, he undertook higher surgical training in Liverpool and achieved the Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2009. Chetan was appointed Consultant in North Manchester General Hospital Department of Oral and Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgery in 2010.
He subspecialises in head and neck/facial reconstructive surgery with an accumulated experience of over 2500 operations in facial surgery. Chetan is a member of specialised interdisciplinary teams at the North Manchester General Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary: Head & Neck cancer / reconstruction and specialist skin cancer.
He has a regular facial skin lesion surgical session and also provides bone grafting and implant procedures. Chetan has many peer reviewed publications, national and international presentations and he is actively involved in teaching dental / medical students, as well as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery trainees.
