Dr Weston gained his MBBS at Royal Hospital of Medicine in 1988, then received an MRCP in 1993.
From 1996 he spent two years doing a research fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA studying acute oxidative stress injury with hydrogen peroxide to cultured human proximal tubule kidney cells and ameliorating their injury using Growth Factors, where he qualified USMLE.
In 1998 he entered onto the specialist register for Nephrology and in 2000 General Medicine.
He was appointed Consultant Physician & Nephrologist at Dorset County Hospital in 2001. The Dorset renal service provides renal services to all patients within Dorset, and South Somerset, and provides inpatient care at Dorset County Hospital, and outpatient clinics at Dorset County Hospital, Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole General Hospital and Yeovil Hospital.
