Mr Speculand trained in Bristol, Bath and Adelaide prior to his consultant appointment in Birmingham in 1985. Now semi-retired but still in active practice.
Current honorary consultant appointments are at Gt Ormond St Hospital for Children, London, and N Manchester General Hospital. Mr Speculand has previously consulted at QEH Birmingham. Mr Speculand also has an active medico-legal practice.
