Mr Benjamin Stubbs completed his undergraduate medical training at St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospital's medical school before accepting a surgical training rotation and obtained his MRCS and CCBST.
He continued his surgical training in London and gained further experience at the Royal Marsden Hospital where he developed an interest in the surgical management of cancer.
After a period of research at University College London, where he studied neo-angiogenesis (new vessel growth in cancer cells), he obtained a Masters in Surgical Sciences, gaining a distinction in his understanding of cancer and the environment. He then completed his higher surgical training rotation in London and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Mr Stubbs gained further experience and developed his sub-specialist interests in laparoscopic surgery and surgical management of bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease during a Fellowship at University College London Hospital, before taking up a substantive position as a Consultant at Dorset County Hospital.
He is currently College Tutor to the Royal College of Surgeons of England and sits on the Wessex deanery specialist advisory committee as the higher surgical training representative to Dorset County Hospital. He is the Clinical Director of Surgery at Dorset County Hospital.
Mr Stubbs holds a regular outpatient clinic at The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester, Dorset and provides consultations for haemorrhoids, bowel cancer screening and bowel cancer surgery, colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, hernia surgery, bowel surgery, sinus surgery, anal fistual surgery, abdominal surgery for Crohn's Disease and more.
