About Miss Beatrix Elsberger

Personal Profile

Miss Elsberger is a multiple award winning Consultant Breast Surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, NHS Grampian. She has been a National Research Scotland (NRS) fellow and continues to lead on Scotland wide projects.

Since 2000 Miss Elsberger spend her medical career in the UK. She undertook her surgical training in Scotland and completed her breast surgical training with a fellowship at the Royal Womens’ Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, before becoming consultant in Aberdeen in 2018.

She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (FRCSEd, 2016) and the European Board of Surgery (UEMS-EBSQ, 2018). She holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, UK (2011) and a MD from the University of Regensburg, Germany (2007). In 2019, Miss Elsberger was selected to join the Academic and Research Committee of the Association of Breast Surgeons UK. She is also QPI lead for Breast in NHS Grampian.

Her academic interests lies in clinical trials and in translational breast cancer research. Miss Elsberger has authored many publications focused on the treatment of various stages of breast cancer and is still carrying out ongoing research in these areas.

She is passionate about teaching, breast cancer awareness and the implementation of the most recent national and international clinical studies bringing the latest advances to the region and benefitting breast cancer patients. This was recognised UK-wide, leading to the NIHR CREST award 2022.
