Personal Profile

Mr Mitra is a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon with a special interest in shoulder/ upper limb reconstruction. His Fellowship training includes: Nottingham Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship, trauma fellowships at Queens Medical Centra, Nottingham and Gloucester Royal Infirmary.

Mr Mitra's orthopaedic training was at the Bristol Hospitals including Southmead hospital, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Great Western Hospital in Swindon, Royal United Hospital in Bath, Gloucester Royal Infirmary in Glouceter and Cheltenham. His clinical practice includes shoulder and elbow sports injuries, soft tissue injuries and fractures of both upper and lower limbs, repetitive use injuries and degenerative conditions including arthritis.

He has a special interest in reconstruction in acute and after sequalae of trauma, particularly of the upper limb His positions of responsibility include: Trauma Lead for Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust, Chief Medical Officer for Castlecombe race circuit, Chippenham. He performs over 300 operations per year and routinely monitors clinical outcomes
